Rassie Erasmus is the Springbok head coach and director of rugby who engineered back-to-back Rugby World Cup wins in 2019 and 2023. A former Springbok flank, he transformed South African rugby with his innovative use of a powerful replacements bench — the so-called Bomb Squad — and a suffocating defensive structure. He is widely regarded as the most successful rugby coach of his generation.
