Mbongeni ‘Bongi’ Mbonambi, born 13 August 1990 in KwaZulu-Natal, is South Africa’s starting hooker and a central pillar of the Springbok front row, earning approximately 65 Test caps through end of 2024. Renowned for his accuracy at the lineout throw and physical presence at scrum time, he won two Rugby World Cups with the Springboks in 2019 and 2023.
