John Smit is one of the greatest captains in Springbok history, leading South Africa to the 2007 Rugby World Cup title in France. He won 111 caps between 2000 and 2011, playing both hooker and tighthead prop, and captained the Springboks a then-record 83 times. His leadership transformed a rebuilding Springbok side into world champions.
