Makazole Mapimpi scored the opening try, becoming the first Springbok ever to score a try in a Rugby World Cup final, before Cheslin Kolbe added a brilliant second in the closing stages. Handré Pollard was the Springboks’ points machine, kicking six penalties and two conversions for 22 points in South Africa’s 32-12 victory.
