Jean de Villiers is a former South African centre born in Cape Town on 24 February 1981 who earned 109 Springbok caps between 2002 and 2015, captaining the team during one of the more challenging periods in Springbok history. A powerful attacking midfielder known for sharp decision-making and physicality, his career was repeatedly disrupted by serious injuries.
