Percy Montgomery is one of South Africa’s greatest fullbacks, accumulating 893 points across 102 Test appearances between 1997 and 2008 — a record that stood for over a decade. He was renowned for his ice-cold goal-kicking and was a key member of the 2007 Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok squad. His 893-point record was eventually surpassed by Handre Pollard.
