Siya Kolisi, born 16 June 1991 in Zwide, Port Elizabeth, made history in 2018 as South Africa’s first Black Springbok captain. A flanker of relentless intensity, he led the Springboks to back-to-back World Cup titles in 2019 in Japan and 2023 in France. His journey from grinding poverty to two-time world champion is one of sport’s greatest stories.
