Chester Williams was a South African winger and an icon of the Rainbow Nation era, the only Black African player in the 1995 Rugby World Cup-winning squad. He scored four tries in the quarter-final against Western Samoa, rescuing South Africa’s tournament at a critical moment, and was immortalised by his role in the Springbok side captained by Francois Pienaar. Williams passed away in September 2019 at the age of 49.
