Eben Etzebeth became the most capped Springbok in history in 2023, surpassing Victor Matfield’s long-standing record of 127 Tests to accumulate approximately 135 Test caps as of 2025. The powerhouse lock was a cornerstone of South Africa’s consecutive World Cup-winning squads in 2019 and 2023, and is widely regarded as the finest lock in the world.
