Joost van der Westhuizen was a South African scrumhalf who earned 89 Springbok caps between 1993 and 2003 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in rugby history. He scored a try and made a famous tackle on Jonah Lomu in the 1995 Rugby World Cup Final, which South Africa won 15-12 in extra time. He passed away on 6 February 2017 at the age of 45 after a long battle with motor neuron disease.
