Naas Botha is widely regarded as the greatest flyhalf in South African rugby history, earning 28 Test caps between 1980 and 1992 while spending much of his career frozen out of international rugby during the apartheid isolation era. A metronomic kicker and brilliant tactician, he scored 312 Test points and dominated opponents whenever opportunities arose. He played club rugby in Italy with Rovigo and was a legend at Northern Transvaal.
