Danie Gerber is considered one of the greatest centres never to play at a Rugby World Cup, earning 24 Test caps between 1980 and 1992 and scoring 19 tries. South Africa’s exclusion from international rugby during the apartheid era denied him the global stage his extraordinary talent deserved. He was inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame and is still revered as one of the most complete and dangerous centres the sport has ever produced.
