Victor Matfield is a former South African lock widely regarded as the greatest lineout forward in rugby history, earning 127 caps for the Springboks between 2001 and 2015. He was the engine of the 2007 Rugby World Cup-winning pack and famously came out of retirement for the 2015 World Cup, where South Africa reached the semi-finals before losing to New Zealand.
