What happened in the 2007 Rugby World Cup final

South Africa defeated England 15-6 in the 2007 Rugby World Cup Final at the Stade de France in Paris on 20 October 2007. Percy Montgomery kicked four penalties for the Springboks, and Francois Steyn added a remarkable long-range penalty, while England’s Jonny Wilkinson could only manage two penalties in reply. Captain John Smit lifted the Webb Ellis Cup as South Africa claimed their second World Cup title.
