Duane Vermeulen is a South African number 8 born on 25 February 1986 in Bellville, Cape Town, who has earned more than 75 Springbok caps. He was named Man of the Match in the 2019 Rugby World Cup Final after scoring a crucial try in South Africa’s 32-12 victory over England in Yokohama. A physical, dominant ball-carrier, Vermeulen is considered one of the greatest number 8s South Africa has ever produced.
