Schalk Burger was a South African flanker who earned 86 caps for the Springboks between 2003 and 2015. He was named World Rugby Player of the Year in 2004 and was a key member of South Africa’s 2007 Rugby World Cup-winning squad. Known for his ferocious defending, explosive ball-carrying and relentless physicality, he was one of the most feared loose forwards of his generation.
