Francois Pienaar was the captain of the South African Springboks who led the team to victory in the 1995 Rugby World Cup on home soil, earning 29 test caps — every single one as captain. The image of Pienaar receiving the Webb Ellis Trophy from President Nelson Mandela, both wearing the famous No. 6 jersey, became one of the most powerful symbols in sporting history. He scored 2 test tries during his international career.
