Morne Steyn is a South African flyhalf immortalised by his dramatic long-range penalty in the dying minutes of the third Test at Ellis Park to seal South Africa’s 2009 British and Irish Lions series win 2-1. He was the match’s dominant point-scorer, contributing 26 points as the Springboks clinched the series, and went on to earn 64 Test caps across two separate stints in the green and gold. Steyn is remembered as one of the most clutch kickers in Springbok history.
