Duane Vermeulen is a South African number 8 born in 1986 in Ceres, Western Cape, and one of the most powerful ball-carriers the Springboks have ever produced. He was named Player of the Final in South Africa’s 32-12 victory over England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup Final, delivering a match-defining performance. Vermeulen won back-to-back World Cup winner’s medals in 2019 and 2023.
