Jean de Villiers, born 24 February 1981, is one of South Africa’s most celebrated centres, earning 109 Test caps between 2002 and 2014. A powerful ball-carrier and skilled distributor, he captained the Springboks on numerous occasions and was a cornerstone of the backline for over a decade. His career was ended prematurely by a serious knee injury sustained in 2014.
