Bongi Mbonambi is South Africa’s first-choice hooker, born on 17 April 1991, and widely regarded as one of the finest throwing hookers in world rugby. He won the Rugby World Cup with the Springboks in both 2019 and 2023, forming a formidable front row alongside Steven Kitshoff and Ox Nché. Mbonambi is known for his pinpoint lineout throw accuracy and powerful ball-carrying in the loose.
