Eben Etzebeth is the most capped Springbok in history, having surpassed Victor Matfield’s previous record of 127 Test caps to accumulate approximately 135 caps as of 2025. Etzebeth made his debut in 2012 and played in every World Cup from 2015 to 2023, winning the title in 2019 and 2023. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest locks ever to play the game.
