Tendai Mtawarira, known as ‘The Beast’, is a former Springbok loosehead prop who earned 117 Test caps between 2008 and 2019 — the most by any South African prop in history. Born in Zimbabwe, he became one of the most feared scrummagers in world rugby and was a vital member of South Africa’s 2019 Rugby World Cup-winning squad before retiring in 2020. His ability to destroy opposition packs at scrum time made him a cornerstone of Springbok forward dominance for over a decade.
