Makazole Mapimpi is a Springbok wing born in 1990 who scored South Africa’s first ever try in a Rugby World Cup final during the 2019 victory over England in Yokohama, finishing as part of a 32-12 triumph. He has scored approximately 30 Test tries in around 50 Test appearances (figures approximate to end of 2024), ranking him second only to Bryan Habana’s all-time Springbok record of 67 tries. Mapimpi was part of both the 2019 and 2023 Rugby World Cup-winning squads.
