Siya Kolisi is the Springbok captain who led South Africa to Rugby World Cup victories in 2019 and 2023, becoming the first black African captain of the Springboks when appointed in June 2018. Born in Zwide township in Port Elizabeth, he overcame poverty and hardship to earn over 80 Test caps as a flanker. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest sporting leaders of his generation.
