Who is John Smit

John Smit is a former South African hooker and prop who captained the Springboks from 2004 to 2011, leading them to the 2007 Rugby World Cup title with a 15-6 victory over England in Paris. He earned 111 Test caps, 83 of them as captain, making him one of the most successful skippers in the history of Test rugby. Smit played his entire Super Rugby career for the Sharks.
