Rassie Erasmus was confirmed as Springbok head coach in February 2024, having previously held the role in 2018–2019 before stepping back to Director of Rugby while Jacques Nienaber coached the 2023 World Cup-winning campaign. He has now guided South Africa to back-to-back World Cup titles as the man in charge of the programme.
