Who is Lukhanyo Am

Lukhanyo Am is a Springbok centre born on 20 November 1995 in East London who made his Test debut in 2017, earning approximately 45 caps through end of 2024. He became a key figure in South Africa’s midfield and earned Rugby World Cup winners’ medals in both 2019 and 2023. Am is admired for his precise defensive reads, clean hands, and an attacking intelligence that operates well beyond his quiet exterior.
